DWS Emergency Plan

Pre-Race Weather Watch:

During registration, the DWS team will communicate any change in weather conditions through use of physical signage, volunteers on standby, and digital messaging. If you have any questions on the event date, please ask one of our staff or volunteers wearing a bright color shirt or reach out to us through email, text, or Facebook for any assistance.

During The Race:

On the course, our race director is actively monitoring all changes in weather conditions throughout the duration of the event. He will make all calls regarding potential incriminate weather and will alert us immediately. Any changes will be directly communicated through walkie-talkie to all water and aid stations, in which we then use a flag system to notify all runners of these changes. In the case mid-race weather change, we have a shuttle on standby to pick up those on the course who are unable to find shelter.

Below is the flag system to communicate with runners the safety of conditions.

Any questions should be directed to Jeff Knight jpk@knightpublicaffairs.com.
